Windsor Hills- View Park

Windsor Hills - View Park has managed the impossible hiding in plain view of the Los Angeles metropolitan area since the 1940’s.  In the 1960’s it was the home of well- to- do Caucasians.  During the 1970s prosperous African- American families bought homes in record numbers to make Windsor Hills - View Park, arguably, one of Los Angeles’ wealthiest neighborhoods.

Windsor Hills - View Park symbolizes success for the American family.  Homeowners in this community represent the American Dream.  These professional residents have political power within the city.  Once flexing their muscles to keep drinking fountains, park benches, and restrooms out of a jogging trail to deter the number of non- resident traffic and potential criminal activity.  Not that this quite, safe neighborhood fears crime with the sheriff’s of the Marina del Rey station patrolling Windsor Hills - View Park’s winding streets.

Windsor Hills - View Park is an eclectic mix of custom- built Spanish, Colonial, Tudor, and Ranch style homes some with backyard views ranging from downtown to the ocean.  Some homes have been customized to include swimming pool, basketball and/or tennis courts.  The average family size is approximately 3 people per home and families tend to live in the neighborhood for decades.  Therefore, knowing you neighbor’s name is expected, which illustrates the traditional values of the neighborhood.  This also means that a “For Sale” sign is a rare commodity in this neighborhood.

If you are looking for a house built to entertain with a front lawn, backyard, swimming pools, character, and a sense of history then a Windsor Hills - View Park home is for you.  This hilly area has maze like streets and dazzling panoramic views of the city, which includes: Beverly Hills, Hollywood, the mountains, and the ocean.  Windsor Hills - View Park acts as a plateau, a center piece, for the surrounding table of neighborhoods jointly referred to as Park Hills Heights.  This “top of the hill” location has made it a haven for the rich and famous like Ray Charles, Nancy Wilson, Ike and Tina Turner, and James Cleveland.  Today’s residents see Windsor Hills - View Park as an oasis in this desert we call Los Angeles.
